SERVICES WE OFFER
Our goal at EDB is to provide a high value service at a reasonable price, while being environmentally aware, and to leave the area better then when we arrived. To that end, a typical service experience will consist of three general components:
1. Site Setup and Preparation
When arriving on site, the EDB representative will meet with the customer to confirm the objectives for the day. Once all parties are in agreement, site preparation will begin by spreading drop clothes to protect sensitive areas. The surface to be stripped will be reviewed to insure it has been prepared properly. If additional surface preparation is needed, it will be completed at this time.
2. Stripping
Once the surface has been prepped, the mixing bell is loaded with media and water to begin the stripping process. In most cases, the media used is crushed recycled bottle glass that has been purified. If the surface being blasted is metal, a rust inhibitor is added to the water. The mixing bell holds about one hour’s worth of media and water before it will need to be refilled. This process continues until the surface has been completely cleaned.
3. Cleanup
When done, the cleanup process will begin. It starts with a final wash of the surface to remove any remaining media. If there is a need to clean up the used media, it will be rolled into the drop clothes and disposed of as needed. Some customers opt to do their own cleanup in order to save on costs.
AUTOMOTIVE
Dustless blasting is the ideal choice for automotive paint stripping and surface preparation! Because the wet abrasive process uses water, it keeps metal surfaces cool during blasting and reduces the chance of warping.
A rust inhibitor is added to the water-abrasive mixture to prevent surface rust on metal for up to 72 hours.
